If you think that your right to personal data protection has been violated, you can submit a Request for confirming violation of the right of personal data protection. The Directorate for Personal Data Protection may contact you for further proceedings.

How do I submit an initiative for conducting inspection in the Directorate for Personal Data Protection?

Starting a procedure for inspection to the Directorate for Personal Data Protection is simple and free. All you have to do is describe your problem in the form Initiative for conducting inspection.

  1. In the form, first enter the name and surname of the controller that has abused your personal data or has acted against the Law on Personal Data Protection.
  2. Then, write a short description of the violation and what you have done so far and whether you have received a response from the controller.
  3. Additionally, enclose copies of the correspondence between you and the controller as well as other evidence you have. If you plan to submit the form electronically, scan the evidence and then attach it.

How long does the inspection procedure last?

The deadline for submitting the application is determined in the Law on Personal Data Protection. The inspector submits a report to the controller who was the subject of the inspection within 30 days of completing the inspection. The controller has 3 days to submit comments on the report. After the expiration of these deadlines, the inspector adopts a decision for removal of the identified violations. The Directorate for Personal Data Protection shall notify the person that submitted the initiative about the outcome of the procedure.
